Senior Accountant

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant at our office in Richmond, BC. Reporting to the Controller, this position will actively lead accounting functions as well as manage financial reporting and provide support to other senior members of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage period end closing duties, including preparation of account reconciliations, accruals, adjusting journal entries, internal financial statements and reports
• Assist with the annual and quarterly financial statement audits and reviews, and tax reporting requirements affiliate companies using IFRS and NPO accounting standards
• Analyze, inspect, and explain account balances, transactions, and variances • Prepare financial reports and analysis for other departments within the organization
•  Maintain rent schedules on a monthly basis
• Review monthly tax returns
•  Supervise and mentor junior accountants, fostering professional growth.
•  Complete other requests from management

Education and Qualifications:

• A senior-level accountant who is a designated CPA (or has successfully passed the CFE) with 3+ years of relevant experience in either a large public practice accounting firm and/or industry.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and ASPE accounting standards
• Knowledge of Sage 300 accounting software an asset, but not required
• Strong analytical skills, complemented by intermediate or advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
•  High degree of attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills
• Resourceful and independent while working closely with the team
•  Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
• Possesses excellent teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively
• Possess an outgoing and professional work ethic

Pay range: $75000.00 to $85000.00 annually.
